My Story
My background and up-bringing was mired by addiction and bereavement. I lost every male role model in my life by the age of 25 and I was surrounded by the wrong kind of people.
This led me into a life of drugs and addiction. Don't get me wrong, I maintained quite a successful career in the legal and insurance industry, a functioning addict, but it catches up with you eventually.
I found myself in the perfect storm, nobody to answer to, able to hide away and feed my addiction. This was when it spiralled out of control.
I was a shell of my former-self, existing rather than living, surviving day by day, bag by bag. I had lost touch with friends, family and I felt alone and to be honest, I was considering ending it all.
I was lucky. I found my partner who gave me a chance, a chance I probably didn't deserve. This saved my life.
I knew I would lose her if I didn't change. So I set in motion the plan that would change my life forever.
I threw myself into the Gym, I needed to reinvent myself, build myself back up from the ground up.
I decided to sign up for a Men's Physique Body Building competition, giving myself 9 months to prepare (I don't like making things easy for myself) and that's where the magic happened.
I had something to fight for, something to focus on and something
to strive towards.

Fitness
Fitness & Training was the backbone of my recovery which is why is forms the foundation of the program. It was throwing myself into my transformation and focusing on positive rather than negative activities that helped me beat my addiction.
Mental Wellbeing
As a recovering addict myself, I know the damage and torture addiction to cocaine and alcohol can cause. It's important to make sure, before anything else that you look after your mind alongside your body.
Nutrition
Everyone has heard the saying 'You are what you eat' well this couldn't be more accurate. Fitness & Nutrition go hand in hand. I realised that once I changed the way I eat, not only did my fitness improve but my mental wellbeing also improved dramatically.
Community
Accountability is a driving factor in recovery. Not only does it motivate you into sticking to your recovery, it also puts others on notice that you are embarking on a journey. It's an invaluable part of the recovery process.
